I don't live in Texas...

Steven left on Tuesday to go to San Antonio, Texas, for a trip through work. I worked Monday night, met him for breakfast and to get the kids Tuesday morning, then we headed to Charlotte as he waited for his plane to board. He took his Grandma on this trip, as she has taken him on many adventures, and I think they've had a great time together. They went to a rodeo at a ranch tonight and as we were talking on the phone I heard baby goats in the background. They took a boat ride around the river, visited the Alamo (embarrasingly, I don't know enough about that particular point of history to know if I've spelled it right), and probably Steven's favorite was watching the Dallas Cowboys practice at a training camp.

As for the kids and I, we had a marvlous trip to Charlotte to see many loved ones there. In just 3 days Sadie got to see all 7 of her cousins, which by itself is quite a treat. Her oldest Nash cousin, Dickson, turned 5 on Wednesday and my Dad turned 58. Needless to say I've eaten way too much cake. But to offset that, I bought a double jogging stroller at a consignment shop. Along with seeing the fam, I also got a sweet visit in with Joni and her hubby, and a crazy girls morning with Julie H. and Rachel P. (Julie has 2 girls and Rachel has 3, all 5 and under-so including Sadie it was quite entertaining).

We drove home to Pleasant Garden last evening and my wonderful mother-in-law met me here so she could spend the night and then keep the kids for me today while I worked. I really am blessed in how little of this trip I have had to be by myself, as Steven comes home around lunch time tomorrow! I can't wait. It seems to me we were having silly arguments before he left but I just can't remember what they were, and now it certainly does not matter as I am SO ready to have him home. Maybe after Sadie's nap tomorrow we can take a family ride on the "soar-wheeler" (Sadie says "s" for "f") to go to "Mr. Pete's" pool. Then perhaps we will have a peaceful evening after dinner, on the porch swing, watching Sadie draw with sidewalk chalk in her bare feet. It is quite the life here on Legacy Fare, which makes me contemplate changing the name of my blog....

I almost forgot to explain the title of this post, oh my wandering thoughts...While we were in Charlotte Sadie was asked where she lived. Her answer? "I don't live in Texas." Good to know, sweetheart. Another funny...she woke up in the middle of the night and my Mom was lying down with her to try and get her back to sleep. It was quiet for quite a while and Mom thought she was out, then Sadie blurts out "I don't like zebras". What a funny child. Ok, I'm truly ending this now. Goodnight!

  1. That funny Sadie-girl! I like Legacy Fare as a title...kinda like Vanity Fair, retro-ish.
